Abstract
Digital payments have transformed e-commerce by facilitating faster, more convenient transactions that are built on algorithmic trust. This research examines how mobile wallets, UPI-based transactions and credit card transactions affect online purchase behavior through consumer preference and how they form trust in placing such purchases. The research will be grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model, and also utilize trust-risk paradigms to assess how the perception of ease-of-use, usefulness, security and perceived risk will meet in behavioral intention and actual purchase behavior. The research employs a quantitative methodology, collecting data from current active online consumers using multivariate methods of analysis to model the structural relationships between variables. Findings will illustrate how trust will serve as a dominant mediating force that changes technology-related attributes into customer engagement, and will enable continued purchases. This research expands on the discussion of digital developments in post-digital commerce by presenting digital payment systems, not just as transactional solutions, but as trust-enabling environments that redefine the decision-making processes associated with consumers' purchases. Implications for future research are extensive.
