Abstract
The agricultural production process has seen a substantial transition from traditional farming to 3D printing since the Neolithic era, when human groups first started engaging in agriculture. Every industrial development in history has unavoidably had an impact on the agriculture sector. It is common knowledge that agriculture has been under a lot of strain from issues like food waste, climate change, natural resource shortages, and population growth. Addressing difficulties related to agricultural production is becoming more and more crucial as the world's population continues to raise at an accelerated rate, increasing the possibility that agricultural production—particularly food production—will fall short of expectations. In the agricultural industry, new techniques and production technologies have been needed to meet these problems. This study aims to determine the degree to which Industry 4.0 applications will be successful in resolving current issues in agriculture production. The difficulties that negatively impact agricultural productivity worldwide are covered in the report. The existing literature on Industry 4.0 applications in agriculture is evaluated, and the potential long-term impacts of these applications on the agricultural industry and economic growth in general are investigated. In this regard, the study investigates the fields in which Industry 4.0 applications are presently employed in agricultural production, their production-enhancing effects, and their potential for problem-solving effectiveness. Economic metrics including productivity, efficiency, and competitive advantage are anticipated to improve as a result of these applications, ultimately contributing to economic expansion. Additionally, it would be feasible to guarantee adequate food supply for the world's population in the future by utilizing other innovative agricultural production techniques like automation and vertical farming. Applications of Industry 4.0 help solve issues like lowering environmental pollution, reducing the risk of scarcity, lowering costs by using fewer inputs in precision farming, preventing an increase in food prices by increasing production, and switching to robotic applications in places where labor supply is difficult. These apps are causing the agriculture industry to digitize, which is having a profound impact on the economy and causing previously unheard-of dramatic changes.
