Abstract
This paper aims to review the studies through literature surveys about the ethno-medicinally important plants used for women's health care practised by different tribes of North East India. The present work is an effort to document and explore various therapeutic applications of plants used during pregnancy, parturition and postpartum recovery among the tribes of India. Women’s health is becoming a significant concern in developing societies because women’s health problems have a high impact on social, economic and psychological aspects of life. They are the backbone of a home. Data pertinent to the research works done by many workers were highlighted to procure information on the local names of ingredients, medicinal uses, and detailed modes of administration. This paper also promotes safeguarding the people's deteriorating day-by-day knowledge.
