Water is one of the most essential and ubiquitous substances on Earth. The water crisis refers to a global issue characterized by a shortage of clean, safe, and accessible freshwater resources for human consumption and various other uses. Several factors contribute to the pure quality water crisis, and it has significant social, economic, and environmental consequences. Several countries were experiencing significant water stress due to factors like population growth, climate change, and poor water management. In the world, most water stressed countries are gulf countries like Qatar, Israel etc. In India, Gujarat is the most water stressed state has only 2% country’s water resources with 5% of the country’s population. To minimise water crisis we should know about the water resource management. It is the practice of planning, developing, distributing, and managing the use of water resources in a sustainable and efficient manner. This involves a combination of policies, strategies, and practices to ensure the availability and quality of freshwater for various purposes while safeguarding the environment. In this Modern generation water resource management can be done by the Internet Of Things (IOT), Controlling pollution and creating awareness among the people. In this chapter, we will give information about water crisis and how to manage water resources by IOT tools.
