Abstract
Biofertilizers are the sustainable alternatives for chemical fertilizers. They enhance nutrient uptake, soil health and crop productivity. These are living microbes that support plant growth. Bioincoulants have advanced from single strain to present day multi strain formulations that offers benefits beyond basic nutrition. Latest developments include nano-biofertilizers, microalgae biofertlizers, micronutrient bioinoculants that offer improved efficiency. These bioinoculants play a vital role in building a greener environment by reducing use of chemical inputs, improving soil health, reducing environmental pollution, mitigating climate change and conserving biodiversit. Their integration into sustainable agricultural systems has potential for achieving long-term environmental sustainability, food safety and security. By focusing on research and addressing challenges, global agricultural community can unlock the full potential of biofertilizers, ensuring a greener and more productive future.
